With the urgent need for the built environment to reach a goal of net zero carbon, architects, designers and industry leaders are eager to conceive, build, refurbish and maintain sustainable buildings. For some, it could be tempting to opt for a cosmetic and ‘quick fix’ approach by choosing carbon offsetting as a route towards this goal. Is it effective enough and is it allowing structural long-term and durable change to occur? Is a circular approach not a better route that we should prioritise to ensure future generations will benefit from its lasting impact?
Convinced that open dialogues can help the industry make the shift towards a sustainable future, Tarkett is organising an online panel discussion with industry experts on November 30 at 6:00PM Hong Kong, Singapore Philippines and 3:30PM India. Speakers include:
- Anna Graaf, Sustainability Director at White Arkitekter, a Swedish-based architecture studio with offices across Europe,
- Alejandro Romero, Principal Consultant in Resources and Embodied Carbon for BREEAM at BRE Group
- Myriam Tryjefaczka, Sustainability Director at Tarkett EMEA
The online discussion will be moderated by Roddy Clarke, a journalist and speaker focusing on design and sustainability, and will be held in English.
