The Gateway Project at Vientiane International School incorporates a new sports centre with Tarkett Sports Flooring!

The new gymnasium has been designed to respond to the tropical climate with passive and mechanical ventilation and an abundance of natural light. Tarkett Omnisports Reference Multi-Use flooring with wood and Uni designs was selected for the gymnasium.  It is the ideal flooring for multi-sports practice and non sporting events as it retains its multi-sports performance and enhanced resistance to indentation and heavy rolling loads when installed for non sports use. Omnisports Reference Multi-Use is P1-compliant under the EN 14904 standard with ≥25% shock absorption. This range has a 0.70 mm PU reinforced wearlayer and is an ideal choice for multi-sports use in middle school, high school and city hall gyms, benefitting from our trademark Top Clean XP surface protection for extra durability and cost-effective maintenance.

EIW Architects are driven by connecting community, responding to the local culture in a meaningful way and exploring how the UN Sustainable Development Goals can be integrated into projects. The project was carried out in collaboration and remotely with Laos Consulting Group (LCG) in Vientiane, with EIW team in Australia unable to visit due to travel restrictions. The VIS Campus Gateway project was officially opened by the Minister for Education and US Ambassador to Laos on February 25th, 2023.
